What does charge density mean

What does the term charge density mean? How would you find the charge density of earth???

Thanks

The linear, surface, or volume charge density is the amount of electric charge in a line, surface, or volume, respectively.

It is measured in coulombs per meter (C/m), square meter (C/m²), or cubic meter (C/m³), respectively, and represented by the lowercase Greek letter Rho (ρ).

Since there are positive as well as negative charges, the charge density can take on negative values.

In an intro physics course, it means the coulombs of charge per unit volume.

In automotive engine-speak, it means the volumetric density of the air or air-fuel charge going into an engine or inducted into the cylinder (appropriate qualifiers, always).  This is almost certainly irrelevant to what you're doing now, but if you ever encounter the term relating to engines, you'll know.

charge density gives the amount of charges present in on a line, area or volume...for eg. if charges are sticking to a sheet then total charge/area of sheet gives charge present per unit area of the sheet,an idea of how dense the distribution on the sheet is(on avg)...
total charge/volume gives charge density

it means a quantity of charge in a space...imagine a sphere...and there are charges onto its surface if you divide whole charges by its area you'll find the charge density....

eg: 2 .10 ^-3 C / m²

it means that in each m² there are 2 x 10^-3 coulombs

sorry if there's any mistake I'm not from there...O.k.. I take physics in the college..
ahh about the earh do the same...as i did with the sphere
