How can I get the displacement of this problem:

An ant moves 2 cm N then 4 cm S

help me!

-
Hey there,
We must first know that displacement is the distance from the starting point to the end point

So the ant starts a point and move up 2 cm North, lets give this value +2

Then the ant moves 4 cm south, lets give this value -4

Now you should add these numbers,
(+2)+(-4)=2-4=-2

Your displacement is -2 cm

Hope this helps!
