Do i see ghosts? Or do i have some mental illness

Ever since i can remember (i'm 16 now) i have been able to sense, see, and hear the dead.
I've seen them as shadows, and I've seen them as if they were regular people.
I still get freaked out a little by them, although none of them have ever tried to hurt me (i think).
Some of them do like to touch my things, like, one guy who's constantly in my bathroom likes to knock down my shower towel, and a little girl likes to play with my plush toys.
I've told my mom, sister, and some close friends, and they all seem to believe me.
BUT IS THIS ALL REAL?
because i only see most of them in shadows, i'm truly judging my sanity....
mental illness practically runs in my family, and enough traumatic events have happened in my life to cause some sort of illness.
I really need help, some days i know i see them, and others (kinda like now) i feel like i'm losing my mind...
please help, thanks!!

OK. First of all, EVERY person I know of involved in the paranormal thinks this...USUALLY at first sighting. The thought comes later on too, sometimes years later. There is a fine line between mental illness and this certainly does not seem mental. There are different levels on which people 'see' spirits. Some only hear. Some feel their emotions. Ghosts have never actually been shown to exist. So either you'll be the first person ever to prove they do (because if you can talk to them, it would be easy to prove) and win a million bucks from the JREF in the process, or you're making it up, or you're hallucinating. If it's the latter, go talk to a doctor. If it's the former, we're waiting for proof. But in most cases, kids are just making it up for attention.
