I was advised to take famotidine in conjunction with arcoxia (for inflammation) because arcoxia tends to be hard on the stomach. According to the prescription I have to take both in the morning. Arcoxia is to be taken after eating. Now I wasn't sure about famotidine but I took it along with arcoxia immediately after eating. But when I searched online some websites recommend I take it an hour before or after meals. Will I suffer any side effects because of this? What should I expect? And how really should I take it? Thanks.

I'm assuming that arcoxia is to be taken after eating because it is hard on the stomach...like you said. It's better to take medicine that is harsh on the stomach once your stomach isn't empty. I take Famotidine and ya it does say to take it before eating. I"m guessing that the doctor meant to take them both but not necessarily at the same exact moment. I would take famotidine before a meal as recommended. I guess with the arcoxia take it after you eat. But that is just what i would do.

Look....we are not medically trained and neither is the INTERNET. There are very few accurate medical websites. One being the Mayo Clinic.
However, if you have questions about your meds, you need to be talking to your doctor. Call your doctor or the nurse at his/her office about this. Don't screw around online with people or sites that know nothing about your medical history, diagnosis, etc...and have no medical experience.
If you EVER have any questions about medication, always talk to your doctor. If your doctor is unavailable, talk to whomever is on call in the office or his/her nurse. You can also talk to your pharmacist.
Use some common sense here.
