The answer is xy+3/y^2+3y but I don't know how to get from the problem to the answer. Please explain?
-
x/y^2. Multiply both sides by y then cancel out the 3's
-
Multiply top and bottom by y
(xy+3) / (y^2 +3y)=
(xy+3) / (y^2 +3y)=
-
x + (3/y) / y + 3
= x + 6
= x + 6

I think you need to times the top and bottom by y+3 and then just simplify
