If you mean how does it work then it's when you go back in time and kill your grandfather, but then if your grandfather is dead, your mom or dad was never born so you were never born so you couldn't go back in time and kill him, and it carries on for ever. If you want a solution so that it never happens, don't build a time machine

You could not go back in time because once we can, we can only go as far back as the first "loop" in time, or when the first time machine was turned on. So, for now, there isn't even a paradox.
