Why was excedrin recalled....it still works for me

Yes, if you have the one of the bottles that was "contaminated", it might work much better than normal.

It seems that strong prescription pain reliever bits from the factory accidently found their way into the machines that pump out Excedrin, Bufferin, Gas-X, and No-Doz. One of the drugs that accidently got mixed is Percocet. And some of the Percocet may contain Gas-X, No-Doz, etc.

So....although a patient expecting a strong opiate who got Excedrin would not experience pain relief, it would not be potentially life-threatening to them. But a person wanting to take No-Doz or Gas-X Prevention who instead took a strong opiate could have a very severe reaction.

As soon as they plow through all the machinery and (and legal stuff, too), it should be back on the shelves.

No wonder it works for you.You probably got the ones containing the powerful prescription painkillers.

It was not permanently recalled. They found some that was tainted so by law they had to do a recall of a certain lot.
