Im doing this math question for my algebra class and I forgot how to determine the percentage of something because I really haven't done this in a long while now. So please help I need some examples. Like say if the original price of this pants I want to buy is $100 and you only get 10% off - how much will that be? :/ ........ Thanks for the responses! :-D

% = 1/100 (per -cent, as 100 cents in 1 dollar)
so 10% = 10* (1/100) = 1/10
10% of 100$ = 1/10 *100$
= 10$
so 10% = 10* (1/100) = 1/10
10% of 100$ = 1/10 *100$
= 10$

Percent means “for every 100” or "out of 100." The (%) symbol as a quick way to write a fraction with a denominator of 100. As an example, instead of saying "it rained 14 days out of every 100," we say "it rained 14% of the time."
Check my source below, and it will take you step by step. Good luck!

1. Multiply by 100
2. Then subtract 72.
3. Next turn pi into a decimal
4. Finally square your answer.

original price x percent = how much you save

Percent is hundredths. 10% is ten hundredths, 10/100, or 0.10. So 10% of 100 is 10. 10% off $100 is $90.
