If a child was admitted to a hospital in critical condition (forehead laceration, broken wrist, brain hemorrhage caused by head trauma, and prior to the accident, was suffering from emotional trauma due to her abusive father) and had no parents/guardians/relatives and she was only 14, what would happen to her? Would she be put into foster care? (If you're curious, I'm writing a story.)

The hospital would contact Child Services, or whatever it is called in that state, and would release the child to them once she recovered from her injuries.
