Yes birth control works, it alters the hormone levels in your body such that a fertilized egg does not get implanted along the uterine wall. However as with all things, its not guaranteed to work 100% of the time in everyone. Some factors in the body may decrease the effectiveness of birth control (e.g. taking antibiotics interferes with birth control).
