The sedative ingredient in that would be diphenhydramine -- aka: Benadryl.
While it can have lingering effects, they generally do not last a week.
I would calm down, and realize this feeling is a result of your disturbed sleep pattern which has your psychological health and anxiety out of whack.
The key here is not to over react. The medicine you took has no permanent effect on you.
Though, rebound sleep issues from taking medications to sleep is common. Which is likely why you are having trouble sleeping.
Staying active during the day (getting out.. etc) and just being patient will resolve the sleep.
When the sleep resolves your mental state will feel much more stable and then you will realize what is going on and your subsequent anxiety that is making this feel a little 'weird' will die down.
I can't stress now how important it is to relax and realize there is nothing wrong.
You've been stressed out, anxious and not slept well before -- you got over it.. you will this time. It is nothing more.
Take care,
