What subjects do you have to be good at to become a doctor

In high school you should concentrate on getting a good general education without too much specialization. It does help to have some knowledge of biology, chemistry and physics, but it's not absolutely essential. When you are at the university level you will have to do well in these sciences as well as in math. Some medical schools have calculus and statistics as pre-requisites for acceptance. But that is why you have a college advisor. There are also required courses in English and perhaps in a foreign language.

There is a difference between being a good student and being a good doctor. In addition to knowing the required medical material, a good doctor is skilled in psychology and knows how to develop a trusting relationship with the patient. Much of this is learned by experience, not in school.
