Best answer gets chosen. Thank u-To show my work. If you dont want to see it, i gave you the answer at the bottom of each question.Slope intercept form is y=mx+b M being the slope and B being the y-intercept.1.......
Write an equation for each line in slope-intercept form.
1. Through (-4,1) with slope 1/2
2. Through the points (1,3) and (-2,-3)

Best answer gets chosen. Thank u

To show my work. If you don't want to see it, i gave you the answer at the bottom of each question.
Slope intercept form is "y=mx+b" M being the slope and B being the y-intercept.

1.The slope here is 1/2. If you plug that in for m it would look like "y=1/2x+b". Now, to find the y intercept. Plug in the ordered pair. In the ordered pair, x= -4 and y=1, Now you have "1=1/2(-4)+b". Simplify that and you get "1=-2+b" Now we solve the equation. First, we get the -2 to leave. So you add the opposite to make it 0. Saying you understand basic math, you would be adding 2. You also have to do the same thing to the other side. 1+2=3, hopefully you understand that. The equation now is 3=b. 3 is your y-intercept.

Your equation is y=1/2x+3

2. To find the slope of two points you use y1-y2 over x1-x2. If you do that with these numbers, it would look like 3--3 which would make 6 over 1--2 which makes 3. 6 over 3 is 2. Now we know our slope. So far the current equation for the line is y=2x+b. Now we substitute our points in to find out y-intercept. Let's use (1,3). The equation now is 3=2(1)+b. 2 times 1 is 2. 3=2+b. Get rid of the two and you get 1=b. Plug it back in and you're done.

The equation is y=2x+1

1. we know that the formula is y=mx+b, we know the slope but not b, substitute the pair into the formula so you have 1= 1/2(-4)+b, solve for b to get 3, then out it back in to get y=1/2x+3 for your answer
2. find the slope (y2-y1)/(x2-x1), so (-3-3)/(-2-1) or -6/-3 or 2, then repeat the steps above with the slope you just got to get y=2x+1

-
1) y-1 = (1/2)(x+4)
y = (1/2)x + 3

2) Slope = -6/-3 = 2
y-3 = 2(x-1)
y = 2x + 1
