Are zero and infinity the same thing

if we consider a circle of infinite radius, at any point on the circle, the position of the point can be either zero or infinity(if we traverse the whole circle to reach that point again).

the mathematical properties of zero and infinity are also similar.

also, the universe started as almost zero and expanding into infinity.

aren't all these pointers to the fact that zero and infinity are same?

just like infinity, zero also seems to be a concept rather than an absolute value.

No. You are incorrect.

Zero may have some similarities to infinity but it should not be confused with it.

A classical mathematical thought experiment is to imagine two hotels.

Imagine one with an infinite amount of rooms.

Now imagine another one with zero rooms.

There would be some similarities and some differences. But it would be unwise to confuse the two or conclude that they are in fact the same value.

so, for the circle, infinity and zero would be the same thing.

a circle of radius zero is called a degenerate circle. a circle of a radius approaching or equal to infinity is called a big f*#$ing circle. that doesn't sound like the same thing to me.

1/x as x approaches zero = infinity.
1/x as x approaches infinity equals zero.
they are inversly proportional in this case.

Zero is just zero, it is equal to nothing. Infinity gives the sense that it keeps on going. You can take zero and add to get infinite but they are not the same in definition.

i think zero use in mathematical matters than infinity use in the other matter -_-
