-3x (2x + 1) 10POINTS

[From: ] [author: ] [Date: 12-04-27] [Hit: ]
I promise this is the answer im in algebra 2. the ^ means exponet.......
is the answer -6x + 3 OR -6x -3

PLease help me

-
It is -6x^2-3x.

First, you distribute -3x. In other words, multilpy -3x * 2x = -6x^2 (since there are two x's). Then you multiply -3x * 1= -3x. (since a negative times a positive gives a negative.) Just multiply across.

Watch out for the neg/pos signs!

-
You need to distribute. -3x (times) 2x is -6x squared. then -3x (times 1) is -3x

Final answer:
-6x squared + -3x

(You get the squared when you do X (times) X

( plus negative is the same thing as minus)

-
the answer is - 6x^2 - 3x. I normally leave an answer as a positive, so it's 6x^2 + 3x.

-
when you distribute it you get -6x^2 + -3x
