2√(x+2)-3=7

I'm homeschooled so I don't have a teacher to ask. Thanks!! :)

-
1) add the 3 to both sides-
2√(x+2)=10
2)divide by 2
√(x+2)=5
3) square both sides (the square root of x+2 squared would be x+2)
x+2=25
4) subtract the 2
5) x=23!

-
2√(x+2)=10
√(x+2)=5
x+2=5^2
x+2=25
x=23

-
first add 3

2sqrt(x+2) = 10

now divide by 2

sqrt(x+2) = 5

now square

x+2 = 25

x = 23
