1. y=6x+4 & y=4x-2
2. y=3x+7 & y=5x-7
3. y=-2x-9 & y=12x+19
4. y=-x+16 & y=-7x-8
5. y=17x-6 & y=12x+44
6. y=-20x+14 & y=-8x-44

This pairs of equation with two unknown, x and y, is known as simultanous equation because it have to be solved simultanously to get the value of the two unknown.
To solve this equation, we have to equate each pair of the equation, since all of them are equal to y; therefore all of them are equal. When that is done we can beging to subtitute and simply to get the value for x and y respectively:
1. y = 6x +4 & y = 4x - 2
6x +4 = 4x - 2
6x - 4x = -4-2
2x = -6
x = -6/2
x = -3
to get the value of y
y = 6(-3) +4
y = -18 +4
y = -14
2. y = 3x +7 & y = 5x - 7
3x +7 = 5x -7
3x -5x = - 7 -7
-2x = -14
x = -14/-2
x = 7
to get the value of y
y = 3(7) +7
y = 21 +7
y = 28
3. y = -2x - 9 & y = 12x + 19
-2x - 9 = 12x + 19
-2x - 12x = 19 +9
-14x =28
x =28/-14
x = -2
to get the value of y
y = -2(-2) - 9
y = -5
4. y = -x + 16 & y = -7x -8
-x + 16 = -7x -8
-x + 7x = -8 -16
6x = -24
x = -24/6
x = -4
to get the value of y
y = -7(-4) -8
y = 28 -8
y = 20
5. y = 17x - 6 & y = 12x + 44
17x - 6 = 12x + 44
17x - 12x = 44 +6
5x = 50
x = 50/5
x = 10
to get the value of y
y = 12(10) + 44
y = 120 +44
y = 164
6. y = -20x + 14 & y= -8x - 44
-20x + 14 = -8x - 44
-20x + 8x = -44 -14
-12x = -58
x = -58/-12
x = -29/-6
x = 4 5/6
to get the value of y
y = -20(4 5/6) + 14
= -20(29/6) + 14
= -20 * 29/6 + 14
= -580/6 + 14
= -290/3 + 14
= -290 +42/3
= -248/3
= -82 2/3
