1/ (1/10) = 10, not (1/10)
Maybe this is why you're confused?
Oh, and use parenthesis!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1/(1/10)
(1/1)/(1/10)
I would make common denominators.
(10/10)/(1/10)
Then do what my math teacher calls, "Keep, change, flip."
(10/10) * (10/1)
Then cross multiply.
100/10 which equals 10.

1 1/10 is equal to 11/10
The calculator is probably unable to display improper fractions.

1 over one tenth is the same as 1 divided by 1 divided by 10. 1 divided by 1 is 1 and 1 divided by 10 is one tenth.
-
You're confused because that answer is not correct. 1 divided by 1/10 is not 1/10. It is 10. However, 1/10 divided by 1 is 1/10.
-
1/10 = 1/10 because they are equivalent fractions. 1 times 1 is 1 and 10 times 1 is 10.
-
umm... either the calculator is wrong, or you are mis-reading it.
1 over 1/10th is ten.
