A computer repairer believes that the mean repair cost for damaged computer is more than $95. To test this claim, you determine the repair cost for 7 randomly selected computers and find that the mean repair cost is $100 per computer with SD of $42.50. At alfa=0.01. Do you reject null or not?

Do not reject the null hypothesis because the test statistic t = 0.3113 and p=0.383 > 0.01
t = (100-95) / (42.5 / sqrt 7) = 0.3113
With 6 degrees of freedom, P(t > 0.3113) = 0.383 and since alpha = 0.01 (one-sided test), do NOT reject the null
Hope that helped
