Please help me answer this math question

I ran the 100 meters race in 14.38 seconds. My friend beat my by running four hundredths of a second faster. What time did she run in the race?

Please show how you got it.

Please note the answer needs to be lesser than 14.38.

Reason that I'm using meters is because I'm studying in New Zealand. Yes I'm a Filipino-American and both US & Philippines use feet and inches.

14.34 seconds.

14.38 - 0.04 = 14.34

14.34 seconds, if she ran it 4 .01's faster than its 14.38- .04
