Can you explain to me how this works?

cosine is the measure of the x coordinate of a point as it rotates around a circle. Naturally, the point travels around in a circle and keeps going in circles once every 2π radians. So what you have to do is figure out how many complete circles it made, and subtract them until you get just the distance from the angle zero. 12π/6 is equal to 2π, so 24π/6 is two full rotation. subtract from 29π/6 and u get 5π/6.

cos(29π/6) = 0.965088007
Round that off and that =
A= 0.96(5)
Round that off and that =
A= 0.96(5)
