The smaller triangle with the 60degree angle we know is a right triangle, so it is a 30-60-90 triagle meaning that the long leg = xsquareroot3, the hypotenuse is 2x, and the short leg is x. the hypotenuse is 10 so 10=2x, x=5
we need the long leg, so thats 5*squareroot3
to find the area, A=.5bh
A=(.5)(5)(5*squareroot3)
A = about 21.65 for the first half
the second triangle is a 45-45-90 with one leg measuring (5root3) meaning both legs have the same measure because it is an isosceles triangle
