Geometry: Find the coordinate of the midpoint of a segment whose endpoints have coordinates 5 & -6.

5-That would be the average of the 2.So it would be (5+(-6))/2=-0.......

use the midpoint formula
(c1 + c2)/2 = M where c1 and c2 are the end points M is the midpoint
(5+-6)/2 = M

M= -.5

to find the mid point of a segment, we must calculate its lenght in units
to find lenght we have to take modulus of each end points
therefore 5 + 6 = 11 units
to get the mid point divide by 2, it's 5.5
it means 5.5 units from each ends
so the mid point is -0.5

That would be the average of the 2.

So it would be (5+(-6))/2=-0.5
