... does a hypothetical FTL neutrino move backwards through time?
-
ex's answer is not entirely correct.
According to Einstein's equations, although technically impossible, if an object with mass did obtain the speed of light, it would not age as long as it travelled at that speed. A person traveling at the speed of light could go 400 billion light years and arrive at, what would seem to them, a second later. However, someone on Earth would see them arriving 400 billion years later (but not aging in the process).
With an FTL object, although again impossible, Einstein's equations would describe it as aging normally while the world around it aged backwards. Somebody observing this particle or thing would see it first at it's destination, then later at its origin. This creates too many paradoxes to be considered a realistic solution, so the idea really only exists in mathematics and our imaginations.
It is extremely unlikely that the CERN neutrinos actually travelled faster than the speed of light.

no.
the whol etime stops idea is only perception, ontherwise if all time stopped/slowed all would experience it if any did it...
time doenst' require you to obxerve it for it to pass and your pbservatin doens't change it either.
