If a neutral metal rod were placed in a parallel plate capacitor, would the rod swing towards one of the charged plates?

I understand that the rod would be polarized, but would electrons within the rod cause it to swing towards the positive plate?

The electric field between the plates of a parallel plate capacitor is more or less uniform. so, after the induction polarizes the opposite faces of the inserted metal rod, the charged opposite faces will experience equal and opposite forces due to the uniform field and the net force on the rod will be zero. Rod, therefore will not move to either plate.
