combination question, creating committee?
there are ten people on the safety board. They must select one person to chair committee A and two other people to co chair committee B.

Would the total number of ways this can be done be C(10,1) x C(9,2)
suppose Jeff refuses to be part of committee A

would this be C(9,1) x C(9,2)

suppose Bob refuses to be part of committee B.

would this be C(1,1) x C(9,2) + C(9,1) x C(8,2)

-
IF THE CO-CHAIRMEN HAVE INDISTINGUISHABLE TASKS, OK, ELSE

total ways:P(10,3) which is same as P(10,1)*P(9,2)
jeff refuses A: P(9,1)*P(9,2)

bob refuses B
P(1,1)* P(9,2) + P(9,1)*P(8,2)
