Math (algebra) help needed

1.Multiply by x + 1 on both sides.2.Add 6 to both sides.y = 3x/4 + 27/4-First, multiply with the reciprocal of the denominator which is (x+1) x (y-6)/(x+1) = 3/4 (x+1).......
solve: (y-6)/(x+1)= 3/4 for y

Please show steps so that I can try to see and understand myself. I missed a week of math class due to having teeth surgically removed and am completely lost. But I do want to get this on my own just need some help getting started...thanks

(y - 6)/(x + 1) = 3/4
1.Multiply by x + 1 on both sides.
y - 6 = 3x/4 + 3/4
2.Add 6 to both sides.
y = 3x/4 + 27/4

First, multiply with the reciprocal of the denominator which is (x+1) x (y-6)/(x+1) = 3/4 (x+1). because you want to get rid of the bottom part of the fraction. --> y-6 = 3/4x +3/4
Then you add 6. --> y-6 +6 = 3/4x +3/4 +6
And the answer becomes y = 3/4x +6 3/4

-
( y - 6) / ( x+1) = 3/4

MULTIPLY BOTH SIDES BY ( x+1)

y - 6 = 3/4 ( x+1)

y = 3/4 ( x+1) +6 ANSWER

-
y = 3x/4 + 27/4
