I'm very bored, and I'm looking for an excuse not to do...algebra homework. Ugh. Only homework I have, so I can't do anything else. Why do people like this stuff?! Seriously. It's just NUMBERS. I'm not stupid and I know you need it, but COME ON! We only need the basics. Addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Unless however your going to become an accountant, doctor, rocket scientist etc. I think the only subjects that are interesting are English and History. English is my favorite subject because it's just so, amazing! Aside from punctuation, I love it. Reading and writing are my life, so that's probably why. And history is just fascinating. Right now I'm studying the start of WW1. So exciting! I love having opinions about things like this. Lol I know I'm a nerd xD Anyway, I just think subjects like math and science are boring. Science is a bit more fun I guess. Animals and space are a bit cool I guess. But please answer this for me: Why do people like math?
-
Because there's something cool in all the logic and how you can solve problems and know for sure if it's right or not (unlike other subjects where everyone can have their own opinion). Also, math is like a language to describe real world events... So it's not just about numbers. Like, a sine/cosine curve can represent a 3 legged dog swimming in circles.
-
Because math is simply logic in symbols. It is an idea or relationship between two things that is represented in a standardized, easy to understand way allowing us to work complex problems and ideas out efficiently. Math is logic.
-
Algebra is generally much easier than other forms of math. Plus, its easy to check your work in algebra.
-
because my brain does math all the time, our system of numbers and math is just a literal way of interpreting it.
