I am not sure if its going to be 6x, or -2X, or if its going to be 8X or 14. Sorry if its confusing, but can I get the code or what I have to do?4x-2x=11-32x=82x/2=8/2X=4-you cant combine terms on opposite sides of an equal sign .......
4X+3=-3+2X+14
So, combine terms, no? 4X+3=11+2X. Is this right so far? After this I am a little lost. I forget sometimes, if I have to add or subtract each side after this. I am not sure if it's going to be 6x, or -2X, or if it's going to be 8X or 14. Sorry if it's confusing, but can I get the code or what I have to do? ty

4x+3=-3+2x+14
4x+3=2x+14 -3
4x+3=2x+11
4x-2x=11-3
2x=8
2x/2=8/2
X=4

you cant combine terms on opposite sides of an equal sign . so solve. Like terms have to be canceled out. So, lets start with the ones with letters. subtract 2x from 2x (cancels out) then do the same on the other side. ( 4x-2x ) then you will have 2x+3=-3+14 .. You can add 3 & 14 because they are alike on the same side. So now you have 2x+3=17 .. Now its a simple equation. So subtract 3 from both sides. You now have 2x=14 .. Cancel out the 2x by dividing it by itself. then do the same on the other side so 14/2 . So x=7 . Hope this helped.!

4X+3=-3+2X+14

Combine like terms

4x + 3 = 2x + 17

Now bring all the x's to one side and numbers to the other, when you do this change the sign

4x - 2x = 17 -3

2x = 14

x = 14/2

x=7

Subtract 2x from both sides :) and that leaves yu with 2x+3=11 so then you just subtract 3 from both sides and you get 2x=8 dive by 2 on both sides and you get x=2

-
4X+3=-3+2X+14
2X + 3 = -3 + 14

2X = 8
x = 4

Check

4(4) + 3 = -3 + 2(4) + 14
16 + 3 = - 3 + 8 + 14

19 = 19

-
x=4
