Would 0 count when working out mean, median, and mode

[From: ] [author: ] [Date: 11-09-06] [Hit: ]
0, 0.4, 0.7, 0.......
Like for instance:

Data:
0.5, 0.5, 0.3, 0, 0.4, 0.7, 0.2, 0.3, 0.1, 0.3

Would the 0 matter when working out the mean, mode and median?

What are the answers?

-
yes it does. so in the set of data you gave, the mean would be .33, mode is 0.3 and median is .55. but yes, all data including 0 is part of the calculation.

How i got my answers:
Mean: add all values then divide it by ten (because there are ten numbers)
Mode: it's .3 because .3 occurred the most
Median: there are 10 data therefore the median is between the 5th and 6th data so to get the median we average out the 5th and 6th data by adding 0.4 and 0.7 then divide it by 2.

-
arrgghh! that always gets me :D yeh, put it in order then average the 5th and 6th ^^

Yes - Zero is just as legitimate a number as any other.

-
yes if it is part of the data collected.

-
Yes, its a part of your numbered results

-
Yes

-
yes we should use 0 bcz its necessary like the other numbers........best of luck

-
