sin(x+18)=cos(x-8)
Umm i keep getting wrong answer, answer is 40.
This is my working out, please point out my error and correct it.
T=theta
sin(x+18)=sin(90-T)
T=(x-8)
sin(x+18)=90-x-8)
= sin(82-x)
/sin both sides
x+18=82-x
2x=64
x=32
answer is 40, so what am I doing wrong? (and don't use pi cause I wont understand, not at that level yet)

sin(x+18)=sin(90-x+8) [NOT sin(90-x-8)]
YOU CANNOT DIVIDE BOTH SIDE OF AN EQUATION BY A TRIGONOMETRIC FUNCTION .IT IS WRONG.JUST WRITE x+18=90-x+8 AFTER THAT STEP.
Thus the answer is x=40.

you're taking, (x-8) = T
so, sin(x+18) = cos(T)
==> sin(x+18) = sin(90-T)
therefore , x+18 = 90 - (x-8)
x + 18 = 90 - x + 8 ( your mistake was here)
2x = 80
x = 40
so, sin(x+18) = cos(T)
==> sin(x+18) = sin(90-T)
therefore , x+18 = 90 - (x-8)

2x = 80
x = 40

You slipped a sign. Should be 90-x+8. Two minuses make a plus. The rest is ok
