E.D.I hope this helps!-This is great, but at the step where you have 3y - 4y^3 = 0, why do you not get y = √3/2 as a possible solution?......
y = sin(π/6) = 1/2. Q.E.D.

I hope this helps!

Yeah I noticed that. What do I do with the other √3/2?

Yes, It can be done. Some hints because I gave to go. Draw the triangle in unit circle. We know it is 30, 60 90 triangle with hypotenuse of 1. use pythagorean thrm with ratios of angles (30 and 60) and substitute in for x and then solve for y.

2*pi = 360 ,', pi/6 = 30 degs sin 30 = 1/2

also cos^2 (30)+sin^2(30) =1 ... 0.75 + 0.25 = 1 QED

Degrees come BEFORE radians in your mathematical education.
