Hey guys, i got C in C1 maths (AQA) in my january exam, and this is my first year in sixth form college. I'm going to give C2 and D1 and also resitting C1 as i want an A. Unfortunately i was ill and couldnt revise very well and my C1 and C2 exam is this wednesday. If i some how manage a C or B in Both and A in D1 can i resit C2 Next year, and also C1 if i dont do well? Some people says it affects the UCAS application if you resit any AS subjects in A2 year..can i hav more information on this and i'm not staying third year in college, so i wanna sit them with the A2 exams. Thanks in advance :)

Yes you can resit it and most Universities don't have a problem with resits. However, University applications rely on predicted grades from teachers, so you'd have to convince your teacher that you were capable of more than a C so that they could enter it into your application. If you're going for a particularly competitive course or Univeristy (i.e. Oxbridge, Medicine, Dentistry etc.) then it could affect your chances. The university can only go on what you put on your application and as they won't know what your resit grades will be, then they will have to go off the grades you already have. I wouldn't worry too much though. When I did AS level I only had a C in chemistry and I still managed to get a Medicine offer even though the I needed an A, as my teacher predicted me an A, so its not impossible. Just make sure everything else on your application is strong and you should be fine :-)
