Some geographers say there are 6 like you say. And some are even only taught 5 Eurasia, Australia, Africa, Antartica, and the Americas.......
**America, Asia, Antarctica, Australia, Africa, Europe. To me there would only be 6 continents because North and South America are just divisions. Did they forget central america? So how many continents are there really?

A continent is one of several major land masses on the earth. There is no standard definition for the number of continents but you will commonly find that the numbers six or seven are used.
By most standards, there are a seven continents - Africa, Antarctica, Asia, Australia, Europe, North America, and South America. Most students in the United States are taught that there are seven continents.

-
North and South America are two separate continents.
So if you think north and south america are the same continent, how would central america be a different one???

-
North and South America are Continents
