Haven't seen my bf in four months... long distance

Me and my boyfriend have been together almost 3 years, he moved away in August 07 and it was fine because we saw each other once a month, he even stayed with me for a month in January. Problem is, I haven't seen him since January... so it has almost been four months.

When we lived near each other, if something went wrong with my family I'd go to his house and everything would be great, I was completely happy, I saw him everyday. But this time, I really needed him and he was too busy working a full time job and we only talked 5 min late at night because he called me extremely late.

I see him in May but I am just afraid I don't feel my butterflies anymore. Is it because I haven't seen him in 4 months? Is it possible that physicalness means everything? Do you think it will get better when I see him?

Omg! That's exactly just like me! Me and my bf are in a long distance relationship and he left on Aug too. He only visits on holidays and the last time I saw him was on January. And we also dated for 3 yrs. How weird! And he doesn't call that much anymore except late at night so we only talk for like 5mns also and he falls asleep. I also know what you're talking about with the butterflies thing. I feel that way and I was thinking the same thing, but I think the reason is not because you don't like him but maybe it's because you're so comfortable around him and you've been with him for a long time you just know he's gonna come back and so you're not all crazy when you see him. Like family kinda? Like you love them but since you see them a lot you're not like all jumping up and down every time you see them. It's ok, it doesn't mean you don't love them or find them less attractive.

All things (including relations) dilute with time and space.
