The current through the 12-ohm branch is 2A,and the current through the 6-ohm branch is 4A.total resistance= 3.value of voltage = I*R; V=3.Voltage V= 20.94V.......
A parallel branch with two resistors of 4ohm and 8ohm is connected in series with a second parallel branch of two resistors of 1ohm and 5ohm respectively . If a current of 6A is drawn from the supply, calculate 1) the value of the voltage supply 2) the current through each branch . I calculated the voltage to be 21V supply ..how to calculate the current through each branch show working

-
Equivalent resistance of the whole arrangement is
1 / [1/12 + 1/6] = 12/3 = 4 ohms

The value of the voltage supply is
(4 ohms)*(6 amps) = 24 volts

The current through the 12-ohm branch is 2A,
and the current through the 6-ohm branch is 4A.

-
total resistance= 3.49 ohm;
current drawn = 6 amps;
value of voltage = I*R; V=3.49*6;
Voltage V= 20.94V.

Calculate the voltages across the parallel set ups using voltage divider rule. Then use current divider rule to find out the current flow through each of the resistors.
