Need help with this relaxed circuit

[From: ] [author: ] [Date: 12-02-14] [Hit: ]
com/1js290.The initially relaxed circuit is exited at t=0 by the dc source shown.Note the reference directions of all variables-A) The resistors R1 and R2 form a potentiometer across the 12 volt source.V = 12 x 4/(4+2) = 8 volts.This makes the voltage across both capacitors = V = 8 volts.The voltages across R1 and R1 are 4 and 8 respectively at t=0- but at t=0+ R1 has dropped (instantly) to 0.......
Please, I need help with this problem.

Q:
The initially relaxed circuit is exited at t=0 by the dc source shown. How do I determine all element voltages and currents at
A) t=0+
B) t= infinity
Note the reference directions of all variables

-
A) The resistors R1 and R2 form a potentiometer across the 12 volt source. The voltage on the top rail to the right of R1 and under the steady state conditions pertaining at t<0 is then:
V = 12 x 4/(4+2) = 8 volts.
This makes the voltage across both capacitors = V = 8 volts.
The voltages across R1 and R1 are 4 and 8 respectively at t=0- but at t=0+ R1 has dropped (instantly) to 0. The voltages across both of the inductances are zero!

B) A long time after t=0 all voltages are zero.

You are unbelievably ungrateful regarding BA award, so this time please first award Best Answer for this and I'll do your other one as well.
