Some plants like cattails and dandelion are relatively safe but many are harder to identify.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andre_Noble-Carry a first aid kit and a cell phone.......
I was just wondering if there are any commen plants (found in eastern Canada) that can help sickness or help heal wounds.
Might be usefull to know if I'm ever lost in the woods :P
Thanks!

The first aid kit and cell phone are obviously a good idea. There are all kinds of medicinal plants.

You could just google and get probably hundreds of references.

A great source to look up all the plants is the plants for a future database. It has medicinal uses and other uses for over 7000 plants.

Be careful. Some actor from Eastern Canada named Andre Noble died from eating wolfsbane when trying the wild survival routine. You have to test the plant carefully even after you are positive it is the right plant. You rub it on you forearm and wait 15 minutes for a reaction. Then rub a small amount on your gums for 5 minutes. Then eat a very small amount and gradually increase the dose. It takes a while to build up knowledge that way but at least you will survive. Some plants like cattails and dandelion are relatively safe but many are harder to identify.
