The 3 types of stresses that deform rocks

what are they?


i thought two of them would be ductile and brittle, but i dont think it is.

Tensional stress (or extensional stress), which stretches rock;


Compressional stress, which squeezes rock; and


Shear stress, which result in slippage and translation.
