What does thermal decomposition mean?

And please don't copy and paste the defination of google just explain to me what it means by using an equation as well if possible?

Thermal decomposition is a reaction in which a compound breaks down to produce one or more simpler substances (maybe elements or compounds) when heat energy is supplied. The reaction is irreversible.
For example,
2Hg0 + (heat) ---> 2Hg + O2
Don't get confused with thermal dissociation. Thermal dissociation is same as thermal decomposition except that it is reversible. For example,
CaCO3 + (heat) <-----> CaO + CO2
(<----> means reversible)
I hope this wl hlp u a lot.

It just means that a substance breaks down chemically when heated.
For example, calcium carbonate.
CaCO3 → CaO + CO2
Even water when it is heated to very high temperatures breaks down.
2 H2O → 2 H2 + O2
