Has there been any cases of poisoning from honey, if the bees have collected nectar from poisonous plants such as nightshades?
or is it unlikely that such nectar will be a significant component of the honey.

The pollen of oleander is also toxic and can lead to toxic honey.

Dixon say: It would be disadvantageous for plants to have poisonous pollen if those plants rely on insects for pollination. The only case would be if they were poisonous to humans but not bees, which is not likely without a special reason.

Vaman say: You must know the nature of poisons.
1. There are poisons when inject them in the blood but are good source of protein when you eat them.
2. Reverse is possible.

I do not know any one who died because of drinking honey. I think it is safe when we eat it.

mac say: well.....bees collect nector..so they can collect the nector from hallucinogenic plants, and use that can be iused as a weapon...in the romain area,i belive it was a roman legion was after some army, and the one army left this honey out and somebread...the romans ate the bread and honey and got all messed up and some got realy sick....the army attacked and the romans lost....look it up,its a story told to me a few yrs back, and i know im getting some of it wrong, but yes you can weaponize honey...the persians used it asa torture/slow death thing too..sounds crazy and gruesome...

tellitlikeitis say: Bees collect pollen, not nectar, from plants. There is no poisonous element to the pollen, so there is no poisonous component in honey.
-
say: Never heard of any
