"The battle over the validity of evolution has been publicly posed as a scientific one. However, you will find little sign of it in scientific journals, where such quarrels as exist are over details, not the basic concept.... Evolution has proved so useful as a paradigm for the origin and structure of life that it constitutes the foundation of the sciences of biology and medicine."

All evidence is "observable": if you couldn't "observe" it, you wouldn't know it was there.

Only idiots think that you should actually be able to see organisms evolving before their own eyes: many of them are religionists who claim they have the "faith" to believe in some mythical super-being that no-one has ever seen but refuse to even consider the mountains of evidence supporting evolution (and the big bang - something else we know to have happened but no-one has ever witnessed)

The evidence supporting evolution could (and does) fill entire books and includes:-
- a number of species being observed in various stages of evolving into two separate species (e.g. Orca, North American Narrowmouth Frogs, European Grasshoppers, Great Rift Valley Chiclids, Californian Valley Salamanders and many others)

- An extensive fossil record

- Plate tectonics and continental drift (which explains the separation of one species into two so that each can evolve separately)

- Radiometric dating

- Parsimony Comparative Analysis of DNA from many species inducating how long ago they shared their most recent common ancestor

- Comparative Anatomy, Physiology and Biochemistry

- Vestigiality

- the genetics of inheritance and mutation
