Who knows carbohydrates

[From: ] [author: ] [Date: 11-11-28] [Hit: ]
The are linked amino acids, and their structures can be large and complex. Carbohydrates have a chemical formula of Cx(H2O)y, (but there are exceptions), and are generally sugars aka monasaccharides and disaccharides, but can be polmerized into polysachharide energy storage molecules.......
are carbohydrates just sugars or are they also vitamins, proteins etc

Vitamins are cofactors for enzymes, and many are derived from nucleotides. Their molecular structures are smaller and simpler than proteins. Proteins serve many functions including structural and enzymatic. The are linked amino acids, and their structures can be large and complex. Carbohydrates have a chemical formula of Cx(H2O)y, (but there are exceptions), and are generally sugars aka monasaccharides and disaccharides, but can be polmerized into polysachharide energy storage molecules. It is the carbon-carbon bonds that are the source of their energy.

Carbohydrates are just sugars.
