I have to do a lab for biology and part of the lab is to explain this formula 2H2O->H3O+OH
I have no idea what it is so can someone please help me
The thing in the middle is an arrow H3O is positive and OH is negative

Here's the way I look at it:
H2O + H2O --> H3O+ + OH-
(instead of 2H2O --> H3O+ + OH-)
H2O + H+ --> H3O +
This process is called protonation of a water molecule which creates a hydronium ion (H3O+).
Since the other water molecule lost an H+ , the water turns into hydroxide:
H2O --> OH- + H+
I hope this helps!

2 Water molecules plus energy equals hydrogen trioxide and alcohol
