Biology plant transpiration? Help

If the bottom surfaces of the leaves of a plant were coated in petroleum jelly, how do you think it would affect the rate at which a plant takes up and loses water?

The stomata would be blocked and water uptake and loss by transpiration would be greatly reduced.
