You know petri dishes, beakers and test tubes.. what are they called in general? Apparatus or equipment or something? What is the name given to these bits of glassware? I'm sure there is a name for it..
I will give best answer..

In a lab report i would use the word Apparatus, if i were in a lab, i would use the actual name of the equipment. If i were to ask someone what 'stuff' a different lab has, i would ask what laboratory equipment they have. But it depends on where they work. It might make more sense to say machines.

They tend to be called glassware!
Though people who work in labs like me tend to call each individual piece by their name such as petri dish (or growth plates as a colloquial for all kinds of petri dish), eppendorf tubes, pipettes, etc.
