Algebra? Im sorry I dont know how to class my question. I found the gradient ( -3,-6) (-3,-4)
and got -2/0. Its undefined, what does it mean?

We cannot divide by zero so is undefined.
The line passing thro` the given points is VERTICAL
The line passing thro` the given points is VERTICAL

Thank you-----pleased to help.

The line joining those two points is vertical, parallel to the y-axis. The gradient is undefined because you cannot divide by 0. Note that 2/0 is not a number. In some sense the line is trying to have infinite or negative infinite slope.
-
The line is vertical (both x-coordinates are the same) so the slope is infinite. Since infinity is not a number, the slope is undefined. This is one of the reasons that division by 0 is "illegal".
-
In general, gradient means the slope in a specified direction of the tangent line at a point, so an undefined gradient would usually represent an infinite slope or vertical tangent line.
-
The line passing through (-3 , -6) and (-3 , -4) is a vertical line.
Since division by zero is not allowed, the slope is " undefined ".
Since division by zero is not allowed, the slope is " undefined ".

x is -3 at both points so the line is the vertical line:-
x = -3
x = -3
