ll, ll. So 50% hetero longsteam and 50% homo shortsteam.-assuming short is recessive - yes you are correct.......
My homework says to cross a heterozygous long stem plant with a short stem plant. I believe the long stem should be labeled Ll due to being heterozygous, correct?

Secondly, the short stem plant needs to be ll because it is short, correct?

-
Based on the information you have provided, one can assume that long stems is the dominant trait (L) and short stems is the recessive trait (l).

Heterozygous long stem plant - Ll
Homozygous recessive short stem plant - ll

Based on this crossing, it can be concluded that 50% of the offspring will be heterozygous (Ll) and thus have long stems, and 50% of the offspring will be homozygous recessive (ll), and thus have short stems.

I hope this helps.

-
Correct, assuming that "long" is dominant. The cross is Ll x ll.

-
Hetero longsteam would be Ll and the shortsteam would be ll. The cross would give you Ll, Ll, ll, ll. So 50% hetero longsteam and 50% homo shortsteam.

-
assuming short is recessive - yes you are correct.
