First move (-a) to the LHS
a^2k+ak+a=0
a(ak+k+1)=0
a=0 or ak+k+1 = 0
ak+k+1=0
ak+k=-1
k(a+1)= -1
k = -1/(a+1)
a^2k+ak+a=0
a(ak+k+1)=0
a=0 or ak+k+1 = 0
ak+k+1=0
ak+k=-1
k(a+1)= -1
k = -1/(a+1)
