Do you think aliens that are more technologically advanced know of our existence but just don't care about us because we are inferior?

Zheia say: Klathu Baradhu Nikthu.

Sherwood Forrester say: I think it's far more likely that if any such ETIs exist, they don't even know we're here. No one outside of about a 200 light year radius can have any way of deducing the possibility of technologically advanced life on this planet -- 200 years ago being the approximate start of the Industrial Revolution, so 200 light years distant is the furthest at which industrial pollutants could, in principle, be detected spectrographically in our atmosphere (assuming a sufficiently advanced technology to resolve the Earth independently of the Sun at that distance). In a galaxy that's a hundred thousand light years or so across and a thousand thick, that's a drop in the ocean.

Ronald 7 say: I think they are out there and just haven't been able to make contact yet
Or maybe have realised there is no way, within reason, to make any journey
Space is a big place
Absence of Proof does not mean Proof of Absence
-
Jeffrey K say: I think that is likely true. We have nothing they want and we are not that interesting. Do we study or help every insect and animal in the jungle?
-
ANDRE L say: At this point, there is zero evidence that any sentient alien life exists.
As such, no one can attribute any characteristics to that which about we know literally nothing.
-
Zirp say: Whether they know about us is moot. They would not care because we live too far away. Even an airwave-message would take hundreds of years to reach us
-
daniel g say: I guess if you believe in that sort of thing. IF such civilization even exists, they may be like us, still looking.
Consider, we are nothing more than a tiny speck in our galaxy of millions of galaxies.
-
quantumclaustrophobe say: I would imagine finding *any* life in the cosmos would be an unusual, excited event... The fact that we might be detected as 'inferior' still means there's a budding civilization beginning on a planet in deep space, which - in my view anyway - means it's a pretty spectacular occurrence.
My guess is, civilizations are rare enough that there may not be any close enough to detect us; even if they have - it may be decades more before we're able to recognize signals from 'them' telling us 'hi!'

Kenny say: They are cautious because they don't want to get infested by stupidity.
-
megalomaniac say: Possible but unlikely. If they could make contact with us they probably would. We have explored pretty much all of our planet (and as much beyond as we can). Why wouldn't other intelligent beings?
-
Bobcat say: oh yes
-
Nyx say: For all we know, they could still be the equivalent of bacteria.
-
sparrow say: No. I don't think so. We haven't existed for very long, and space is too vast.
I think intelligent life exists, but is very far away, even too far for them to find us.
-
CarolOklaNola say: We were quarantined in 1948, if not earlier. We are the equivalent t of E.coli or a very toxic virus as long as we kill and slaughter one another. Seriously, would YOU REALLY want to make first contact with the GENERAL PUBLIC that is WILLFULLY Ignorant, paranoid and stupid that has a herd/mob mentality?
-
John say: Why would they be interested in a planet full of swarming invasive savage conceited little pudgy primates, who are only ephemeral tenants of this planet?
The Earth has almost half a million species of beetles. Many are beautiful and exotic. They have existed for about 200 million years. That is something to be interested in.
To answer your question you have to think outside the one species that by sheer fluke you happen to be a member of.
-
Steel say: Not that they don't care, but as I understand it, it is possible to learn. But if yer use yer mind, and yer left hand knows what yer right hand is doing, this kind of selfishness negates any possibility due to a paradoxical chain (God works in people always) - As does sin which did - Which is why the slave or the child gets the word and sees to the extent God allows.
And believe me, there are no aliens are out there other than the Turkey's which make bilateral agreements chasing Tinsel town.

Pi say: Some are some are not, there are many different species that have been on earth
